Breakwater output

Gold output at the Cannon mine at Wenatchee, Wash., was approximately 6% higher than expected in 1987, according to Breakwater Resources which has a 49% interest in the mine. Calgary-based Asamera Inc. holds the remainder.

Total gold output was 137,800 oz along with 188,400 oz silver from an average head grade of 0.31 oz gold and 0.49 oz silver, says Breakwater President Robert Hunter. During the year, the mill processed 487,065 tons of ore with a 91.3% recovery rate for gold and 89.8% for silver. The direct cost of producing an ounce of gold was $165(US).

“An aggressive program of exploration and developmental drilling has been budgeted for 1988 to further establish additional reserves,” he claims.
