Breakwater expands zones in N.W. Que.

Surface drilling has expanded several gold zones on Breakwater Resources’ (TSE) East Amphi property near Malartic, Que.

Previous surface and underground exploration had established a mineral inventory of 758,015 tonnes at an uncut grade of 11.02 grams per tonne. Ten holes, totaling 5,200 metres, were drilled during this recent campaign. They tested the down-plunge and lateral and vertical extensions of the known gold-bearing structures. Significant intersections include: 4.6 grams over 11.9 metres (true thickness) in Hole 01-82A, 4.14 grams over 2.85 metres in Hole 01-8 and 7.35 grams over 4.2 metres (true thickness) in Hole 01-87. Further exploration work is planned, following a review of the 1994 drill results. One area the company hopes to explore is the western portion of the property, where a 1-km stretch of promising lithology has never been drill-tested.
