Bre-X founder dies

David Walsh, the stock promoter behind the meteoric rise of disgraced junior Bre-X Minerals, died June 4 at age 52 following a massive stroke.

Walsh was admitted to a Bahamian hospital May 31 and had been on life support after being felled by a brain aneurysm at his home in the island nation. A funeral was held in Montreal on June 13.
