Bravo ties into high-grade zinc and silver at Mad Dog

Vancouver – Drilling by Bravo Venture Group (BVG-V) at its Woewodski Island project in southeastern Alaska delivered an impressive intersection of massive sulphides hosting high-grade zinc and silver.

Bravo is drilling three target areas, the Mad Dog, Lost Lake and East Lake. Initial results from Mad Dog have shown significant zinc and silver mineralization over considerable thickness.

The first three holes from Mad Dog included:

  • Hole MD04-01 – Intersected 5.3 metres (from 30.3 metres) of 437 grams silver per tonne, 3.79% lead and 18.45% zinc; a deeper intercept of 17 metres (from 40.7 metres) cut 223 grams silver, 0.97% lead and 11.27% zinc, including 3.8 metres of 565 grams silver, 2.78% lead and 22.39% zinc;
  • Hole MD04-02 – Four intervals of mineralization were intercepted including 2.6 metres (from 62.3 metres) of 261 grams silver, 0.89% lead and 14.8% zinc;
  • Hole MD04-03 – An intercept of 1.8 metres (from 44.8 metres) averaged 361 grams silver, 3.78% lead and 10.95% zinc.

Geologic interpretation has led Bravo to speculate that hole 1 was drilled in close proximity to a vent area. Initial results suggest mineralization is similar to that of Greens Creek, a high-grade, precious metals rich VMS deposit.

Woewodski is located about 145 km. south of the Greens Creek mine, owned 70.3% by Rio Tinto (Kennecott) (RTP-N) and 29.7% by Hecla Mining (HL-N), which hosts proven and probable reserves of 6.8 million tonnes grading 483.5 grams silver per tonne, 4.1 grams gold, 10.7% zinc and 4% lead.

Bravo is earning up to a 100 percent interest in the project.

The issue traded up on the news, a couple of pennies, to 23 on volume of almost 200,000 shares the day of release. As of the latest figures, the company reports 32.9 million shares outstanding.
