In Rockburst Handbook for Ontario Hardrock Mines, David Hedley has done a commendable job of bringing together in one volume state-of-the-art rock mechanics practice. He was project leader for The Canada Centre for Mineral and Energy Technology (CANMET).
This volume reports on a special 5-year, $4.2-million project that painstakingly delved into the phenomenon of rockbursting in Ontario. It documents experiences from several burst-prone mines in the province, including Campbell, Macassa, Creighton, Falconbridge, Strathcona and Quirke.
