A new, definitive paper on the Eskay Creek gold deposit north of Stewart, B.C., is one of several geological articles featured in the newly released Exploration in British Columbia 1989. The British Columbia Geological Survey releases such publications each year. They provide an excellent and thorough overview of industry activity in the province. This year’s issue has acquired a new focus and format, and many of the articles are joint efforts between industry and Geological Survey researchers.
This year’s publication includes more material on metallogenic research, as well as the traditional property descriptions by ministry staff.
In addition to comprehensive geological descriptions of deposits such as Mt. Milligan and the J&L, and articles on exploration activity in British Columbia and results of current placer geology research, the new publication contains an up-to- date geological description of Eskay Creek.
This article comprises 27 pages of detailed geology, illustrated by maps and cross sections, and is supported by recent reserve estimates.
Exploration in British Columbia 1989. Available at Crown Publications, 546 Yates St., Victoria, B.C. Price: $25.
