Boliden selling its interest in Great Lakes

Control of Great Lakes Nickel will pass to a private company, if a deal with Boliden AB is completed. Boliden, a Swedish mining company, has entered into an agreement to sell its 29% stake in Great Lakes to M. J. Whitney for undisclosed terms. The deal remains subject to regulatory approval.

Great Lake’s main asset is a copper-nickel property near Thunder Bay, Ont. Recent work has focused on the platinum group metals potential of the deposit.
