Boliden closes Toronto office

Toronto-based Boliden Canada, a wholly owned subsidiary of Boliden International Mining, will cease operations July 31. All future North American exploration and administration will be conducted through the Boliden Resources office in Portland, Me.

The decision to close the Toronto office was made after Trelleborg, Boliden’s Scandinavian owner, acquired a 50% interest in Toronto-based Falconbridge. John Cesar, president of Boliden Resources, said the acquisition removed the need to have two competing offices in the same city.
