Blasting course set for Nevada

A 2-day course on blasting will be held from Sept. 30 to Oct. 1 at the Hilton Hotel in Reno, Nev.

Entitled “Blast Design and Assessment for Surface and Underground Mines,” the course emphasizes blast design and assessment of blasting practices. Safety, monitoring, and prediction of blast performance by means of computer programs will also be discussed.

The program will be presented by blasting specialists William Forsyth, Alan Cameron and Thomas Kleine.
