Black Hawk cuts more nickel at Redstone

Three holes drilled on Black Hawk Mining’s (TSE) Redstone nickel property south of Timmins, Ont., have intersected additional nickel mineralization.

The holes were drilled to test the downdip extension of the known ore zone between the 700- and 1100-ft. levels. The first hole in the program, BH94-1, intersected 6.79% nickel over 8 ft. from 1,006 to 1,014 ft.

Hole BH92-2 was collared 150 ft. east of BH94-1 and intersected 3.32% nickel over 7.5 ft. at a vertical depth of 850 ft.

The second hole, BH94-3, was drilled 140 ft. east of hole 2 and cut 10.21% nickel over 10 ft. This interval included a high-grade section averaging 16.84% nickel over 5.9 ft.

Hole BH94-4 was collared at the same location as BH94-3 but intersected the ore zone at a vertical depth of 975 ft., or 145 ft. below hole 3. The intercept averaged 4.73% nickel over 5.8 ft.

Assuming continuity of the zone is established by the current program, the mine could be in production, at 300 tons per day, within six months of a production decision.

Drilling continues.
