Birch Mountain tests project

Based on the recommendations of a preliminary technical report, Birch Mountain Resources (BMD-V) plans to advance its Muskeg Valley limestone project in northeastern Alberta to the prefeasibility stage.

The results of a independent technical report (conforming to National Instrument 43-100 Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects) suggest that Muskeg Valley has the potential to become a significant producer of quicklime and aggregate in the Fort McMurray region.

The company will carry out more drilling and testing while it upgrades geological modeling and conducts market studies to gauge demand for quicklime and aggregate.

Birch Mountain is best known for its work aimed at proving the existence of “prairie-type gold deposits” on its extensive land holdings in Alberta. Conventional assaying methods have as yet failed to prove the existence of significant concentrations of “prairie gold.”
