BIOMINET meeting

Biominet, the federal government’s network, responsible for facilitating the exchange of information on biotechnology as it relates to the mining industry, will hold its fourth annual meeting Nov 4 at Laurentian University in Sudbury.

The morning session will deal with microbal leaching for the primary recovery of metals and the afternoon session will cover the latest in the application of bioleaching in dealing with effluents and waste streams from mills.

Eight papers will be presented.

Following the meeting, mill operators will be treated to a 2-day workshop on basic microbiology.
