Big drill program outlining gold zone Vezza Twp. project

North American Rare Metals and Dundee-Palliser Resources continue to meet with encouragement in the big drilling program under way on their joint venture gold property in Vezza Twp., 25 miles south of Matagami in northwestern Quebec.

Eight more holes have now been reported as follows: Hole From To ft. oz/gold 30 771.0 783.8 12.8 0.13 31 884.2 902.9 18.7 0.11 32 209.7 216.6 6.9 0.08 33 731.7 738.2 6.6 0.26 34 777.6 784.2 6.6 0.12 35 233.0 259.2 26.2 0.18 Incl. 233.0 242.8 9.8 0.32 36 370.7 377.3 6.6 0.15 37 206.4 220.5 14.1 0.25

As previously reported, widely spaced holes indicate a rather uniform gold-bearing zone within a sedimentary horizon for a length of 2,000 ft and wide open. These latest holes, drilled on a pre-set pattern, are more closely spaced to detail the deposit within this 2,000- ft length.

Hole No 30 was drilled 165 ft below No 29 which averaged 0.10 oz over 22.6 ft. No 3l is 165 ft below No 12 which averaged 0.11 oz over 36.1 ft. No 32 was drilled 165 ft east of 28 which assayed 0.21 oz over 9.8 ft.

Hole No 33 went down 165 ft east of No 29. Hole 35 was drilled 165 ft above No 4 which had cut 18.7 ft of 0.19 oz. No 36 was drilled 328 ft above No 34, while No 37 went down 165 ft east of and 165 ft above No 36.

All intersections represent core lengths but are believed to be close to the true width.

Two drill rigs are now on the job which will run to at least 50,000 ft.

“We believe that we have our teeth into something important. And the zone is likely to prove a lengthy one so we will probably carry out much more than the previously announced 50,000-ft drill program,” nar President S. G. Hawkins tells The Northern Miner.
