With winter setting in, there is a lot of new drilling getting under way in Quebec’s Casa Berardi area.
One of the latest to announce a big program is North American Rare Metals (ME) and its joint venture partner Dundee-Palliser Resources Inc. (TSE). This promises to be a sizeable undertaking costing upwards of $1.6 million to explore six separate claim groups totalling over 500 claims.
Airborne geophysical surveys have already been completed and follow-up ground work is now well under way.
Activities are currently being concentrated in Vezza Twp. where core drilling is slated to start within the next few days, officials tell The Northern Miner. Several excellent drill targets are indicated here, where drilling a number of years ago picked up some excellent gold values. Two holes in that program that were put down approximately one mile apart returned values of 0.10 oz gold across 10 ft. These holes have since been found to lie within strong geophysical target areas.
North American’s expenditures will be funded by Tandem Resources which now controls this company and which can earn additional shares in North American at the rate of 35 cents per share for all expenditures it makes.
