BC road show comes to TO

Mineral exploration spending in British Columbia increased to $220 million in 2005 and more than 20 mine development projects are under way, but that doesn’t satisfy Richard Neufeld, British Columbia’s minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources.

Neufeld, together with Rob Pease, chairman of AME BC and Pierre Lebel, chairman of the Mining Association of British Columbia will be part of an investment “mission” to Ontario, and Toronto in particular.

The mission, slated for April 18-19, will focus on mineral exploration and investment opportunities in B.C. A luncheon will be held on April 19 at a ballroom at the Toronto Hilton Hotel.

Joining Neufeld will be representatives from B.C.-based mineral exploration and mining companies, as well as the Chief of the Tahltan First Nation.

The speakers will provide insight into B.C.’s mineral potential, mineral policies, aboriginal land issues, and tax regime.
