Bayfield hits high grades

Bayfield Ventures (BYV-V) released some impressive results from its Burns Block property in the Rainy River district of north-western Ontario.

The latest assays came out of a high grade zone on the western portion of the Burns Block and were highlighted by intercepts of 30 metres grading 12.98 grams gold; 33 metres grading 13.73 grams gold and 12 metres grading 9.53 grams gold.

The results came out of three separate infill holes with mineralization being hit as shallow as 40 metres.

A fourth infill hole passed over the zone but still hit 15 metres grading 2.89 grams gold and 23.02 grams silver in a separate zone to the west.

The company says assays for another 16 holes are pending.

The Burns Block is situated adjacent to the east and on strike to Rainy River Resources’ (RR-V) multi-million ounce gold deposit. Thus far Rainy River has outlined indicated resource of 4.41 million oz. with an average grade of 1.17 grams gold on its property.

In Toronto on Nov. 29 the Bayfield’s shares were up 9¢ or 20% to 54¢ on 725,000 shares traded.

Bayfield says that surrounding the high grade zone is a lower grade mineralized envelope that is also important to the value of the gold and silver mineralization hosted at the Burns Block.

The company is also drilling near the east boundary of the Burns Block where it is testing a high magnetic and conductive geophysical anomaly.
