Bayer to speak at CIM luncheon

Hemlo Gold Mines President Ian Bayer will speak at the Nov. 25 luncheon of the Toronto branch of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum.

Hemlo Gold operates the low-cost Golden Giant mine in northwestern Ontario which produced more than 450,000 oz. in 1992. Its other producing property is the Silidor gold mine, just outside Rouyn-Noranda, Que., in which it has a 55% interest.

Bayer has presided over the company since July, 1991. Previously, he was president of Kerr Addison Mines and Minnova.
