Burlington-based junior Band-Ore Resources (CDN) has acquired the Schist Lake gold property near Timmins, Ont.
The property encompasses the Cryderman gold occurrence, where gold is hosted within a highly mineralized, deformed zone of sulphide-carbonate-sericite schist.
The zone has been traced for a minimum strike length of 450 ft., is open to the east and west, and is reported to be more than 10 ft. wide in pits on the eastern and western portions.
Mineralization occurs in lenses hosted within a braided shear zone with disseminated to massive sulphides.
Samples by government geologists in the vicinity of the
occurrence assayed as high as 0.3 oz. gold per ton.
Band-Ore will begin a 2,000-ft. drilling program in the coming weeks.
