The 29th Bancroft Gemboree on the August civic holiday weekend attracted rockhounds from across North America.
Prospectors, dealers, New Age crystal healers and tourists came to the central Ontario town of Bancroft to talk and shop at the town’s arena and visit area crystal mines. On sale were the minerals amethyst, opal and sodalite, which is mined in the area.
