B.C. increases grants

Mineral prospectors will get help from British Columbia’s $500,000 Prospector’s Assistance and Training program. “These grants help the prospectors of today search for the mines of tomorrow,” said Mines Minister Jack Davis. “The maximum grant is now $7,500.” Last year’s 76 grants totalled $345,700. Prospectors have been submitting their applications since February, and grants will be awarded this month.

Criteria for evaluation are technical quality, experience and training, financial commitment and recommendations.
