Avocet continues work at Penjom

Drilling and trenching are continuing at the Penjom gold property owned by Avocet Ventures (VSE) in Malaysia.

The company reports that trenching extended the strike length of a previously identified gold zone to 2.5 km from about 800 metres. Near-surface zones measuring up to 86 metres across at 1.92 grams gold per tonne were identified by trenching to the north of previous drilling. Current drilling is testing the extensions at depth and along strike.

Gold mineralization occurs in a complex dilation zone of low-angle faults and steep fracture and shear-controlled zones.

Drilling earlier in the year returned a mixed bag of results ranging from 4.1 metres grading 2 grams in one hole up to 67.4 grams over 10.5 metres in another.

Avocet expects to release additional drilling results in January.
