Grab samples from six areas within Aurogin Resources (VSE) Batchawana property have returned gold assays ranging from 0.2 to 0.4 oz per ton. The large 495-claim property is shared by Aurogin and Duration Mines (TSE) 33.3% and 66.6% respectively.
Located in the Batchawana area near Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., the property covers numerous gold, copper, molybdenum and cobalt showings, many of which were previously worked by companies such as Phelps Dodge years ago.
On the Glenrock gold-cobalt showing, a 750-ft strike length has been exposed by stripping. Gold values range from 0.1 to 0.195 oz per ton across 2.5 ft to 8 ft in shallow drill holes. At the Phelps Dodge porphyry showing, gold values have been shown to accompany copper- molybdenum mineralization, Aurogin says. Drilling is planned for this target in the fall.
On Aurogin’s Pusticamica Lake project in northern Quebec, a 10-hole drill program failed to intersect any economic base metals. However, drilling did intersect a strongly altered zone with anomalous gold values ranging up to 0.1 oz per ton across 9.8 ft.
