Vancouver – Drilling by Aurizon Mines (ARZ-T) at its wholly owned Casa Berardi project in northwestern Quebec has returned high gold values beyond the known limits of Zone 113.
A program of underground definition drilling included six core holes along the eastern limit of Zone 113, three of which intersected significant gold mineralization. Hole U195 returned 7.5 metres grading 14.5 grams gold per tonne; hole U334 intersected 8.2 metres of 7.8 grams gold; and hole U335 hit 6.2 metres grading 22.0 grams gold.
Infill drilling within the zone continues to return gold values. Results include hole U200 intersecting 12.2 metres grading 11.2 grams gold and hole U327 cutting 22.9 metres averaging 8.2 grams. All assays were uncut.
Gold mineralization is hosted within, but not restricted to, quartz veins and hanging wall stockworks associated with the Casa Berardi fault. All holes drilled in Zone 113 have intersected a 20 to 70 metre wide mineralized corridor adjacent to the fault.
