Aurizon drilling Connell property

The property is within 1,350 m of the Aur/Louvem copper-zinc discovery, the company reports. Ezekiel Explorations, which has an option to earn a 49% interest in the project, is providing the funding for the 20,000 ft of drilling work.

Meanwhile, Aurizon, part of the Hughes-Lang group, reports total gold production from its Sleeping Giant mine near Amos, Que., of 21,945 oz for the first nine months of 1989.

Underground summer drilling revealed new veins west of the current mine work ings, the company says. The most promising of these veins, No 20, is a north-south structure dipping at 45 degrees east with a drill- indicated strike length of 150 m. The average grade of chip samples from the vein is 8.79 g per tonne over 1.5 m.

Further exploration is planned for the vein, including continued drifting and raising on the 145-m level along with step-out drilling.

Exploration drifting is also proving up ore from the down-dip extensions of the NW vein on the 415-m level and the HE vein on the 355-m level, the company reports.
