Auriginor buys Voisey’s Bay interests

Montreal-listed Auriginor Exploration has acquired a 32% share of eight claim blocks from Palace Explorations (ME) in the Voisey’s Bay and Harp Lake regions of Newfoundland.

To earn its interest in the claims, which show favorable airborne magnetic patterns and anomalous geochemical values in nickel, copper and cobalt, Auriginor must pay $132,500 in cash and stock. It must also spend $400,000 on exploration by Jan. 30, 1997.

The claim blocks, which consist of 800 mineral claims, host the anorthositic rocks of the Nain plutonic suite. Most of the Harp Lake claims are on, or near, the contact between the Harp Lake intrusion and older Churchill granites, to the west.
