Aur drops Patagonia

After spending $1.5 million on exploration, Aur Resources (AUR-T) has decided to drop its option to earn an interest in the Patagonia property from Southern Rio Resources (SNZ-V).

Southern Rio intends to complete a review of all data, including the results of Aur’s work, before making a decision on its plans for the gold project.

The company says Aur discovered two more gold zones, bringing the number of mineralized zones on the property to 22. The project also was expanded to 566 sq. km from 366 sq. km., such that it now covers ground in both Chile and Argentina. Southern Rio says it is examining other gold projects in those neighboring South American countries.
