Recently completed underground drilling in the central portion of the Beauchastel property near Rouyn-Noranda, Que., has returned encouraging values, Augmitto Explorations reports.
Hole 87-B5-53, over 10 ft, cut 0.17 oz gold per ton; hole 87-B5-55, over 10 ft, cut 2.38 oz, plus another 5 ft of 0.05 oz; and, hole 87-B5-41, over 11.4 ft, intersected 0.29 oz.
The company says these drill holes represent a strike length of 38 ft and occur 20 ft west of, and above, an exploration raise which showed an average net grade of 0.4 oz through a raise distance of 50 ft.
Augmitto also reports it will be awarding a contract in the near future for the sinking of an exploration shaft for an initial depth of 1,350 ft. The shaft will be used to explore the Patrick zone lying 1,400 ft north of the carbonate hosted mineralization; in addition, it will permit deeper exploration on the carbonate mineralization. A 110-ft headframe is under construction at the site.
