Audrey recipient of govt. grant

Each level of government will provide half of the grant money, which will be used principally to build access roads and install electrical equipment.

Audrey is spending $17 million to construct the mill and $7 million on development of new mineralized zones. Production at the project was halted during the summer of 1988 following the decision by Audrey to build a mill. Production is set to resume in July of this year.

Audrey, with a 70% interest, and Minnova Inc. (TSE), with a 30% interest, began mining the polymetallic (copper-zinc-silver-gold) deposit in mid-1987. Originally an open-pit project, the Mobrun was switched to an underground operation prior to the shutdown. Ore from the project was being processed at Minnova’s Norbec mill.
