Shaft sinking to a depth of 232 m has been completed at the Mobrun project located near Rouyn, Que., shared equally by partners Audrey Resources and Corporation Falconbridge Copper.
Exploration drifts have also been driven on the first and second levels, at 60 m and 180 m.
Audrey President Guy Hebert says ore was intercepted in the drifts early last month with the first sampling results confirming the previous values encountered in surface drilling on the first level.
However, on the second level the sampling results were higher than expected. The sampling of the ore west zone on the second level has given the average value of 1.77% copper, 2.18% zinc and 1.60 oz silver and 0.19 oz gold per ton. These values are the average of nine samples at four sampling locations over a distance of 35 m.
The average value of samples done on the first value are 0.63% copper, 3.56% zinc, 0.95 oz silver and 0.078 oz gold.
Mr Hebert says exploration raises in the ore are expected to begin shortly.
Exploration drilling is also under way at the Mobrun to evaluate the extension at depth of the favourable horizon.
