Merger candidates Suntac Minerals (VSE), Canarc Resource (VSE) and Rembrandt Gold Mines (ASE) recently released additional assay results from drilling on the Polaris-Taku gold property in northwestern British Columbia.
The companies previously reported that stepout hole PC-92-C11, about 350 ft. west of previous drilling on the C vein, had intersected a wide zone of quartz-carbonate alteration and veining.
Assay results from the hole show it intersected 166.9 ft., from 852.1 ft. to 1,019 ft., grading an average of 0.045 oz. gold per ton. The intersection included three higher-grade zones including: 3.4 ft., from 852.1 ft. to 855.5 ft., grading 0.28 oz. gold; 9.2 ft., from 922.5 ft. to 931.7 ft., grading 0.27 oz. gold; and 9.8 ft., from 1,005.5 ft. to 1,015.3 ft., grading 0.33 oz. gold.
While Canarc confirms that the entire 166.9-ft. intersection does not likely constitute ore grade, the company is excited about the potential around the intersection.
Hole PC-92-C10 intersected three zones including: 6.4 ft., from 661.0 ft. to 667.4 ft., grading 0.19 oz. gold; 16.2 ft. from 688.2 ft. to 704.4 ft., grading 0.50 oz. gold; and 4.6 ft., from 772.2 ft. to 776.8 ft., grading 0.32 oz. gold. The hole is an infill hole between hole PC-10-C3 (0.43 oz. over 22.7 ft. and 0.91 oz. over 18.7 ft.) and the 600-level of the old mine workings.
Infill and stepout drilling is continuing on the property and the companies hope to double previously reported preliminary reserves of about 2.2 million tons grading 0.44 oz. gold.
