Visible gold was intersected in an exploration crosscut being driven north from the 2,050-ft. level at the shaft, Armistice Resources (ME) reports from its gold property at Virginiatown, Ont. The gold was noted within the Armistice 100N zone which was discovered by drilling during the past two years. Grab samples averaged 0.23 oz. gold per ton across 4 ft.; the best assay was 0.47 oz. The crosscut is being driven to facilitate bulk sampling of the Sheldon 185N zone lying 85 ft. north of the 100N zone.
The company says drill results indicate the 100N zone, hosted primarily by carbonate rock and containing quartz stringer veins, is extensive. Hole 18-W60-7, 200 ft. above the crosscut, returned 0.2 oz. over 6.2 ft. Hole 18-W60-2, 30 ft. west of the aforementioned intersection, cut 0.31 oz. over 5.8 ft.
