A preliminary feasibility study is planned for the Taseevo gold deposit, part of Armada Gold’s (ASE) Baley project in the Chita region of southeastern Siberia.
The study, due by late April, will examine the viability of re-opening the Taseevo mine and retreating existing gold-bearing tailings.
The Baley project contains 78 million tonnes averaging 2 grams gold per tonne, which is equivalent to 156 million grams or 5 million oz. of contained gold. In addition, the tailings project features a reserve of 42 million tonnes averaging 0.8 grams for an estimated 33.6 million grams or 1.3 million oz. of contained gold.
The study will review the existing ore reserve calculations (arrived at by Russian engineers) and develop an open-pit mining plan.
Consultants are compiling data from drill holes and channel samples in an effort to revise the calculations.
The preliminary study will be followed by a bankable feasibility study later this year.
