Argentina Gold expands zone

Aggressive drilling by Argentina Gold (ARP-V) at its Veladero project in northwestern Argentina has expanded the high-grade zone of the Filo Federico target.

Results from holes 142 and 139, collared along the northern flank of the Western Filo Federico target, are revealing the presence of more gold along the high-grade east-west corridor.

Hole 142 intersected 190 metres averaging 4.76 grams gold and 30.1 grams silver per tonne starting at a down-hole depth of 160 metres, including a 65-metre section grading 12.2 grams gold and 59.1 grams silver. The hole was collared 120 metres east of previously reported hole 135 (197 metres averaging 4.95 grams gold) and drilled toward the northwest at an angle of minus 75.

Hole 139 cut 29 metres averaging 6.48 grams gold and 5.98 grams silver starting at 29 metres down-hole, and this was followed by 34 metres of 1.05 grams gold and 12.27 grams silver starting at 145 metres down-hole. The hole was collared 50 metres northwest of previously reported hole 121 (131 metres averaging 6.93 grams gold) and drilled towards the southwest at minus 65.

Three reverse-circulation (RC) and three diamond drill rigs continue to operate.

At Western Filo Federico, RC hole 152 is in progress, as is diamond drill hole DDF3, which is twinning RC hole 121.

At Filo Federico, RC holes 134, 136 to 138, 140, 143 to 147, 149 and 153 have all been completed, and assays are pending. Diamond hole DDF2, a twin to RC hole 122 (134 metres averaging 2.86 grams gold), has also been completed, with assays pending.

At the Amable target, assays are pending for diamond drill hole DDA3, a twin to RC hole 80 (212 metres averaging 3.67 grams gold and 47.71 grams silver).

Hole DDA4 was temporarily abandoned at a depth of 255 metres. RC hole 150 twinned the hole to a target depth of 252 metres and now DDA4 is continuing where RC hole 250 left off.

Diamond drill hole DDA5 is twinning RC hole 92, which returned 105 metres averaging 7.67 grams gold and 52.52 grams silver.

At Amable North, RC hole 141 has been completed, with assays pending. At the Eastern Filo Federico target, hole 148 has been finished, whereas holes 151 and 154 are under way.

Argentina Gold holds a 60% interest in the Veladero property, with the remainder held by Barrick Gold (ABX-T).
