Argentina Gold drills new gold target at Valedero

Argentina Gold (ARP-V) has drilled a promising gold-silver intersection within a new target area at its Valedero property in Argentina’s San Juan province.

Hole 76 was collared on the southeastern flank of the Cerro Pelado diatreme, about 1.5 km southeast of one of the project’s primary targets, the Filo Federico zone. This latest hole was the first to test a coincident geophysical and geochemical anomaly that is at least 800 metres long.

Hole 76 intersected 193 metres (from 37 metres) grading 1.49 grams gold and 55.09 grams silver per tonne, including 41 metres (from 44 metres) of 2.53 grams gold and 70.34 grams silver.

Argentina Gold says that the mineralization seen in hole 76 is similar to, and at about the same stratigraphic elevation as, the target being drilled at Filo Federico.

Meanwhile, the company has released results from hole 72, which expands the Filo Federico zone to the northwest and may correlate with the NW zone, which lies about 400 metres to the west. Hole 72 cut 192 metres (from surface) grading 1.51 grams gold and 9.94 grams silver, including 47 metres (from 74 metres) of 4.4 grams gold and 15.09 grams silver.

Currently, the company is contracting an independent geological auditor to estimate the resource at Filo Federico.

Drilling is expected to resume in September or October.

The Veladero project is a joint venture between operator Argentina Gold, which holds a 60% interest, and Barrick Gold (ABX-T), which holds the remainder.
