Another hit at Myra Falls

The latest assay results released by Westmin Resources (TSE) appear to show a westerly extension of the high-grade Gap zone discovered earlier this year on the Myra Falls mine property near Campbell River, B.C.

The latest hole, 15-454 from section 12+60E, intersected the zone about 20 metres (65.6 ft.) off section to the west at ore depth.

The hole returned 16.1 metres (52.8 ft.) grading 2 grams (0.058 oz.) gold and 198 grams (2.9 oz.) silver per tonne, 2.4% copper, 0.7% lead, 8.3% zinc and 10.8% iron from 151.0-167.1 metres (495.4-548.2 ft.).

The hole also returned 5.8 metres (19 ft.) of 0.9 grams (0.026 oz.) gold and 49 grams (1.4 oz.) silver, 2% copper, 0.1% lead, 3% zinc and 36% iron. A hole is now being drilled to continue testing the eastern extension of the Gap ore zone.

Westmin’s Myra Falls mining operation has been producing a variety of metals for over 25 years. Grades being encountered on the new Gap zone discovery are typically higher than ore currently being mined from the two underground mines that make up the Myra Falls mining complex.

Westmin recently an-nounced a decision to start development access of the Gap zone from the 18-level in the H-W mine
