AngloGold recently made its systems compatible with those of Quadrem, an online marketplace for metals and mining products, and now the South African gold giant is doing business on the Internet.
AngloGold joins mining heavyweights such as Codelco, Anglo American and Barrick Gold in the online market.
“[We are] beginning to realize the value Quadrem can deliver both to our organization and the suppliers with whom we transact,” says Malcolm Farrell, manager of group procurement.
AngloGold operates mines in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Mali, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania and the U.S.
Quadrem was developed as a one-stop online shop for the world’s resource companies and their supply partners.
