Anglo has trouble wedging drill hole

Anglo Canadian Mining (TSE) has experienced some difficulties while wedging a second drill hole on its MWF gold property near Timmins, Ont., where Anglo is spending $250,000 to earn a 50% project interest. As Anglo Canadian was unable to obtain enough cement to set a wedge in the hole and as additional cement wasn’t available, Anglo Canadian was forced to abandon it.

Meanwhile, a third hole has been collared 600 ft. west of hole two. Designed to hit the target zone at a vertical depth of about 750 ft., it intersected a graphite zone from 790 ft. to 820 ft. as well as a highly altered brecciated zone in mafic volcanics. The alteration zone continues to the end of the hole at a depth of 876 ft.

According to Anglo Canadian, pyrite mineralization was intersected above the graphite zones that are believed to have contributed to some production at Falconbridge Gold’s (TSE) adjacent Owl Creek gold mine. Samples from the MWF property are being cut and sent out for analysis.

In a bid to speed up drilling and provide more geological information on the target zones, a second drill rig has been mobilized on the property. A fourth hole 75 metres east of hole three is under way.
