Re-assaying a historical drill hole has led to the discovery of a copper-gold-molybdenum prospect at the Copper Creek project, northeast of Tuscon, Ariz.
The prospect, dubbed Holly, occurs at the intersection of easterly and northwesterly trending structures, with mineralization associated with a porphyry system. Seven altered breccia pipes and multiple intrusives have been mapped in the area, which contains several coincident magnetic lows.
Follow-up drilling is scheduled.
AMT International is exploring Copper Creek in joint venture with the American unit of Australian-listed GTN Resources. At last report, the property hosted resources of 11.4 million tons grading 1.34% copper in several breccia pipes.
