American Zinc Association meeting set for early 1997

The American Zinc Association will hold a conference from Feb. 2-5 in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Entitled “Building for the Future,” the conference will focus on the future of the base metal. Speakers scheduled to appear include: Dennis Prager, a Los Angeles-based author and radio talk-show host; David Thompson, chief executive officer of Cominco and chairman of the International Zinc Association; Peter Richardson, Queen’s University professor and consultant; and David King, chief executive of the London Metal Exchange.

Topics for discussion include the comparison of the zinc industry with other sectors, the future of the LME in light of recent developments in the copper market, supply and demand, and the price of zinc.
