American to sell Paymaster stake

Vancouver-based American Reserve Mining (ME) has decided to sell its 40% interest in the Paymaster gold mine project at Timmins, Ont.

The company says it has held discussions with potential buyers and other bids may also be solicited.

Exploration at the mine continues with a 17-hole underground drilling program and drifting on the 6,025 ft. level. American Reserve says the current program, designed to determine the dimensions of possible ore extensions and the continuity of parallel ore zones, should be completed by the end of June.

Placer Dome (TSE), with a 60% interest in the project, says a test run of Paymaster ore through the nearby Dome mill proved successful. Head grade was 0.14 oz. gold per ton.
