American Platinum

Assay results from a platinum exploration program have been received by American Platinum Inc. Drilling on the company’s property at Lac des Iles, north of Thunder Bay, Ont., has cut several wide sections of low grading platinum group metals (pgm) mineralization.

Hole one intersected 144 ft grading 0.01-0.02 oz pgm per ton. A second hole intersected 72 ft assaying similar grades.

The third hole assayed 0.018 oz pgm over 26.3 ft, the company says. Mineralization is associated with a sulphide-bearing gabbronorite which is similar to that hosting the Roby deposit of Madeleine Mines. Located west of the American Platinum ground, Madeleine is planning an open pit mining operation next year.
