American Bonanza hits high grade

Vancouver — Underground drilling has returned high-grade assays at the Copperstone gold project in Arizona’s La Paz Cty.

Vancouver-based American Bonanza Gold (BZA-T) sunk 76 holes spanning 6,800 metres. (A separate program of surface drilling is ongoing.)

Highlights from underground drilling at the D zone include:

– 32.5 grams gold per tonne over 4.2 metres;

– 29 grams gold over 4.6 metres;

– 18.5 grams gold over 7.1 metres; and

– 17.4 grams gold over 3 metres.

The D zone drill intercepts are oblique to the mineralized Copperstone fault. The zone has a true thickness up to 7 metres.

Gold mineralization at Copperstone is restricted to fault zones, with little or none in the wall rocks.

A previous operator produced 500,000 oz. gold from an open-pit mine at Copperstone from 1987 to 1993.
