Amax opts out of Robertson play

After almost six years of exploration and development work on the Robertson property in Nevada’s Crescent Valley, Amax Gold (NYSE) has decided to return the project to owner Coral Gold (VSE).

In 1995, Amax estimated the porphyry zone contained about 20 million tons grading 0.036 oz. gold per ton. The 39A zone is estimated to host 4.7 million tons grading 0.077 oz. gold.

Coral will now consider proposals from other parties who might be interested in optioning the property.
