Gold production from the Sleeper mine in Nevada is expected to be 158,000 oz this year, up 12,000 oz from previous forecasts, Amax Gold reports. The latest forecast is based on additional heap-leach production and continued high grades of mill ore.
To Sept 30 of this year, the mine, located near Winnemucca, produced 116,485 oz, including 43,384 oz during the third quarter. The company says expansion of production capacity at the mine to 200,000 oz annually is expected to be completed by January, 1988.
