Altoro Gold tables trench results from Brazil

Altoro Gold (ATG-V) is awaiting results from a 1,200-metre drill program on its Pedra Branca platinum-palladium project in northeastern Brazil.

The shallow, 18-hole program tested the Esbarro zone with eight holes, the Trapia West zone with seven holes, the Ipueiras zone with two holes and the Trapia One zone with one hole.

Meanwhile, Altoro has announced assay results from four trenches at Trapia West. Highlights include:

– 43.4 metres averaging 1.8 grams platinum-palladium per tonne, including 7 metres of 3.1 grams platinum-palladium, at Trench 725 West;

– 22.6 metres averaging 1.8 grams platinum-palladium, including a 8.5-metre section of 2.4 grams platinum-palladium, at Trench 635 West;

– 7.2 metres averaging 1.8 grams platinum-palladium at Trench 555 West; and

– 39.4 metres averaging 0.8 gram platinum-palladium at Trench 550 West.

Trench 725 West is 50 metres west of previously reported Trench 675 West (5.2 grams platinum-palladium over 40 metres). Trench 635 West lies 40 metres east of Trench 675 West. These three trenches strike in a north-southerly direction and are perpendicular to Trench 550S (122.7 metres averaging 1.9 grams platinum-palladium), which was dug by a previous operator.

Altoro can earn up to a 70% interest in Pedra Branca from Eldorado Gold (eld-t) by spending US$2 million over three years (including US$50,000 in the first year). It can then earn an additional 20% by spending an extra US$1 million. In total, the company hopes to have acquired a 250-sq.-km. position in the northerly trending, U-shaped Pedra Branca ultramafic complex, which has a strike length of about 30 km.
