Alta Gold gains Nevada property

Junior Alta Gold (ALTA-Q) has acquired the Excalibur gold property in western Nevada.

The property, which comprises 62 unpatented mining claims, lies 20 miles southwest of the town of Mina, in Mineral Cty.

Mineralization occurs in a gold-bearing jasperoid breccia over an area measuring 1,000 by 3,000 ft. Of the 79 soil and rock geochemical samples taken to date, all showed anomalous mineralization.

Alta has located a total of four gold anomalies on the property.

Sampling and geological mapping continue apace, and drilling is planned for the first quarter of 1997.
