Allegheny plans work program

Exploration is scheduled to begin on Allegheny Mines’ (ASE) 47-claim Atiko-Sapawe Gold Mines property, 20 miles east of Atikokan, Ont., in 1993.

Working with a new structural interpretation of the property, Allegheny plans to test the previously unexplored areas between the 1,015-ft. shaft above the Mines deposit and gold occurrences about 1.5 miles to the east. The Mines deposit hosts a “mineral inventory” of 531,000 tons grading 0.31 oz. gold per ton.

The company says the McCaul Shear zone, a gold-bearing structure, is continuous from the shaft to the occurrences and is crosscut by several smaller shear zones.

Financing alternatives are being investigated.
