Drilling has extended the Olcott zone at depth and in a southeasterly direction, Allegheny Mines (ASE) reports from its northwestern Ontario gold project.
Six holes intersected the structure to a vertical depth of 200 ft. and along a strike length of 330 ft. The intersections vary from 0.032 oz. gold per ton over 23 ft. in hole 95-06 (true width) to 0.16 oz. over 14.8 ft. in hole 95-05.
Hole 95-03 returned 0.01 oz. over 13.1 ft.; the company says visible gold in the core was not included in the sample for assay.
Hole 95-04 cut a secondary zone to the west of the original zone, which also hosted visible gold; a 5-ft. section (true width) assayed 0.23 oz. without the visible gold.
The work by Allegheny, west of Thunder Bay, is under the direct supervision of Claude Larouche.
Plans include more drilling at Olcott, surface work and more drilling of the Eagle zone, and drilling at the shaft area of the former-producing Lindsay property.
