DWednesday close, Oct 29 Tanner Arctic Oil was the volume leader for another week. The company, which has a whopping 53.8 million shares issued, added 2 cents to close at 20 cents . Tanner has acquired a gold prospect in the Cariboo area of B.C.
Although never drilled, the company makes a bold claim that 3 million tons of material grade “in excess of 1 oz of gold per ton.” Yet future plans call for a heap leach operation.
Other more down to earth projects include Storimin Exploration which is planning an underground program at its Moss Lake property in northwestern Ontario. The issue was marginally stronger at 83 cents -86 cents . Tandem Resources is the joint venture partner on that property.
Ontex Resources was a strong performer, soaring past $4 before coming back to $3.67-$3.70 at the close today. The company has completed a deal with Mines Abcourt. Abcourt has the right to earn a 50% stake in Ontex’s property in Barraute Twp., Que. A small deposit of 90,700 tons grading 0.33 oz gold per ton will be tested.
Highflying platinum stock Madeleine Mines, added 40 cents today to close at a new high of $4.45. Good buying came in from a large group of prominent houses in Toronto; all smelling a deal in the wind. Madeleine has a 50% stake in one of Canada’s best undeveloped platinum group metals deposits, north of Thunder Bay, Ont.
