Shares of Toronto-based Golden Crescent Resources posted a surprising gain of 80 cents for the week ended April 10 to close at $1.75 on volume of 164,900 shares. The company has reported some mixed drill results from a gold property in Lindsley Twp., six miles west of Geraldton, Ont. Golden Crescent is exploring the property in a joint venture with Placer Dome as operator. Some of the better assay results in the recent 7-hole program include 0.48 oz. gold per ton over 6.2 ft., 1.5 ft. of 0.31 oz. gold, and 179.8 ft. of 0.029 oz. gold. BMR Gold traded 49,700 shares and moved 8 cents higher to close $1.50. The company has funding in place for predevelopment work on its America mine project in California.
Biron Bay Resources was better by 15 cents to close at 95 cents on volume of 66,900 shares. The company recently completed a $650,000 private placement at $1 per share, and is continuing exploration on its Summit gold project in New Mexico where a preliminary estimate of 800,000 tons grading 0.017 oz. gold per ton has been outlined.
Also moving higher by 4 cents to close at 30 cents was Savanna Resources which traded a large volume of 726,900 shares. Savanna says its holding discussions with several major mining companies regarding a possible joint venture deal on its Turner-Albright gold- copper-zinc property in southern Oregon.
Other issues making modest gains during the report period were Ontex Resources which moved up 19 cents to $1.25, and Noble Peak Resources which added 10 cents to its share price of 70 cents. Durvada Resources was also better by 6 cents to close at $1.60 on volume of 124,300 shares.
Newly listed Gregory Exploration was posted for trading on April 5 and was steady at the 17 cents level. The company has completed a $150,000 prospectus offering and is seeking mineral exploration properties in Canada.
After arranging a $450,000 flow- through financing with CMP 1990 Resource Partnership, Tanqueray Resources slipped lower by 9 cents to close at 70 cents. The company will use the funds to explore its 46% owned Little Stull Lake gold project in Manitoba, and its 25% owned Kits- Jade project at Kitsault Lake, B.C.
